Martha is an Art Historian – Museologist, Senior Senior Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education, & Member of the Centre of Pedagogical Research and Praxis – C.P.R.P, School of Primary Education, Faculty of Education, AUTH

She studied History and Archaeology, specialising in Art History and Theory at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. Her BA, Certificate, MA and Doctorate are in Art History and Theory (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Universities of Cambridge and Essex and holds also a PGD in Museum studies (University of Leicester). In December 2006 she attended successfully the Foundation Course in Art Therapy (BAAT, London).

She has worked in museums in England and Greece and since 2000, before coming to the Faculty of Education, held academic posts at Universities in Greece and abroad. She has been publishing in the areas of Art History, Art Education, Multicultural Education and Art, Museum Education and Learning through the arts.

Her research-teaching fields are: History of Art, Learning through the arts, Arts Education and Cultural-Museum Education. Her current research projects include Visual Art Education and Sustainable Development, Intergenerational Learning and teaching through the arts.
