Anastassios (Tassos) Liambas earned his B.Ed. in Education and his Ph.D. in Pedagogy from the School of Primary Education at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he is head of the Centre of Pedagogical Research and Praxis.

His research work focuses on Pedagogical theory and praxis, and student assessment, specifically extends to the following fields: Pedagogy, Critical Pedagogy, Pedagogy of Liberation, Student Assessment and Assessment for Learning, Dynamic Assessment, Student Practice of Teaching, Teacher Profession, Teacher Training and Further Education, Qualitative Methods of Educational Research, Student Failure in Compulsory Education.
