Fanny Seroglou is an associate professor in science education at the School of Primary Education at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and is Head of the ATLAS Research Group (ATLAS – A Teaching and Learning Approach for Science), Director of the DiDes Research Lab (DiDes – Digital Analysis & Educational Design) and President-Elect of the IHPST Group (IHPST Group – International History, Philosophy and Science Teaching Group).
In her research Fanny Seroglou focuses on:
- The contribution of history and philosophy of science in science education (for her research she was awarded the Volta Medal from the IHPST group in 1999).
- Science for citizenship (published two books: Science for Citizenship in 2006 and Opening Science Towards Society in 2017).
- Educational YouTube channel design, educational wiki design and digital narratives design and development (atlas movies channel, atlas mooc channel, atlaswiki)
Fanny Seroglou has been scientific responsible in a series of European Research Projects (e.g. The MAP Project, STeT – Teaching science using case studies from the history of science, HIPST – HIstory and Philosophy in Science Teaching, CASE – Creativity and Arts in Science Education).
