Currently, the School of Primary Education of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki operates three research centers covering a wide area of academic conduct.
The Center for the Study of Reading and Writing in Education and Society (EMAGEK)
The Center for the Study of Reading and Writing in Education and Society was founded in September 2016. Its overarching objective is the conduct of research in the interdisciplinary field of Reading and Writing, focusing mainly on documenting and analyzing the way in which these processes take place in educational and other related social contexts. The Center is committed towards the diffusion of its research results in the form of offered support and training services targeting the educational world and institutions related to reading.
The Centre of Pedagogical Research and Praxis (CPRP)
The Centre of Pedagogical Research and Praxis was founded in September 2016. Its overarching objective is the development, dissemination and application of pedagogical knowledge in order to contribute to the teaching and research needs of the School of Primary Education, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as cater for the educational and training needs of schools, teachers, students, parents and society at large, through a process that promotes an open, lasting and fruitful dialogue with them.
The Center for the Digital Analysis and Design of Learning Tools (Di.Des)
The Center for the Digital Analysis and Design of Learning Tools was founded in September 2016 and aims to promote open and free software in education, the training of students and teachers of all levels of education in open and free software related to STEM sciences, the catering of the teaching and research needs of the School and other Schools of the University with regards to areas of its members’ expertise and the integration of digital technology in the Curricula of the subject matters it treats.
