Mr. Aidinis graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, School of Education, Department of Early Childhood Education. His Master degree is from Institute of Education, University of London, Department of Child Development and Learning and his MA thesis is titled: ‘Phonological awareness in the first stages of Greek literacy’. He became a Doctor at the Institute of Education, University of London, Department of Child Development and Learning, and his PhD Thesis’ title is ‘Phonemes, morphemes and literacy development: Evidence from Greek’.

His research interests focus on the acquisition and teaching of literacy including both the reading, comprehension, text composition and spelling strategies children use developmentally, and the acquisition of the necessary knowledge for the implementation of these strategies, especially for children of the first primary grades of school. Moreover he is interesting in emergent literacy and language teaching in the early school years and in cognitive and social factors influencing literacy acquisition. His papers have been published in national and international journals and books.
