Born and raised in Thessaloniki. He worked as a school’s teacher (1993-2017) and a faculty member of the School of Film of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) from 2017 to 2022.

In 2010 he completed his PhD in children’s literature. He has written dictionaries, books on children’s literature, creative writing, teaching Greek language in the Greek minority in Albania and about teaching the Holocaust.

In October 2015, the French Republic honored him as Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques for his contribution to the promotion of the French language and culture as well as his enlistment to teach the memory of the Holocaust. Today is assistant professor in the School of Primary Education of AUTh with the subject “Children’s Literature”.

His research interests are: Children’s literature, Creative Writing, Children’s Film and Children’s literature, Teaching the Holocaust
